New PS3 4.60 Firmware
I found this article at ps3-hacks.com, and thought I should share. The CFW for 4.60 will be posted here once there is a decent one available. Keep checking back here.
PS there is a spoof available, but please read the instructions carefully or wait until the new CFW comes out. I take no responsibility for what happens with the spoof (I'll make a new post for the spoof).
Sony has unexpectedly released a crop of new firmwares for PS3 and PS4. Both updates (4.60 and 1.72) bring no new features to the table other than a slew of unspecified "stability improvements" for software playback. Unfortunately, that means those of you that have been waiting for substantial feature additions to the PS4 will have to continue doing so.
As far as the hacking scene is concerned, I expect that an onslaught of totally useless 4.60 custom firmwares to hit file share servers in the coming hours. The lack of new features makes updating pointless for a lot of folks, but as hackers, sometimes we release things just because we can. ODE users on the other hand, have fallen victim to a much more serious dilemma. No matter what model console or chip you have, all ODEs have stopped functioning as a result of Sony's patching. Should you have any hardware by E3, Cobra, or 3K3Y installed in your system, you'll want to stay put on 4.55 for now. The swap method that allowed 4K systems to run ODEs on 4.55 has also been rendered useless as well. In that sense, plugging these silly holes is a useless task for most of us, but it has massive implications for some.
