Cassandra (Elvira) began her career as a Vegas showgirl at 17, lived in Italy awhile where she had a small part in a Fellini film and was lead singer for an Italian rock band.  After returning to the states she modeled (nude) and was on the verge of giving up on stardom when she was offered a job as a horror show host on a local Los Angeles tv station.  "Movie Macabre" was born and was soon syndicated nationwide making her a cult star.  The show was a mix of bad comedy and the worst horror movies ever made.
